When I first heard of dry brushing, I cringed. The thought of brushing my body sounded painful and just wrong. BUT there re so many benefits like increasing blood circulation and cell regeneration (weight loss-smooths cellulite), promoting lymphatic flow/drainage, stimulates the nervous system (energizing) unclogging pores, and even help with stretch marks. After reading one of my favorite bloggers, Ali Stones (@thosewhitewalls), blogs on dry brushing, I decided to order this one above and give it a go.
I’ve been happily using this brush for about a month now. I think my skin has become softer, I feel like my stretch marks aren’t as noticeable, and I kind of enjoy the way the brush feels.
Alis blog post taught me to always brush towards the heart, using long strokes, starting with your feet first. So, you start on your lower body by brushing up your feet starting at your toes, work your way up your calfs, then your thighs. Your middle section comes next, except this area you make circular motions. Skip the chest, neck and face. Finish with your arm by raising them over your head and brushing down from your wrists towards your armpit (gently over the armpits), and WALA you have dry brushed your body. OH, and you do this before you shower, so then you wash off all exfoliated skin.
DON’T FORGET TO CLEAN YOUR BRUSH! (baby shampoo or something light & gentle)
Below are a bunch of dry brushes linked! The one I use (first link), I liked because it has the white massage noodles. Enjoy 🙂
